WEATHER THREATENS - THE FLORIDA ORCHESTRA CONCERT CANCELED

Due to threatening weather this Friday’s Florida Orchestra Concert at the City of Madeira Beach City Centre will be canceled.

Madeira Beach, FL, December 16, 2015– The City of Madeira Beach concert A Holiday Evening Under the Stars featuring The Florida Orchestra has been canceled for this Friday, December 18th. According to Weather.com, as of Thursday, winds are expected to be up to 20 miles per hour, evening low of 51 degrees with an 80 percent chance of rain during the day.

“Collectively we couldn’t be more disappointed. Our friends at the Orchestra and the City have been monitoring the weather diligently, and the combination of forecasted high winds, rain and low temperatures made rescheduling the right course of action. Unfortunately for our concerts Mother Nature remains undefeated,” –Doug Andrews, Director of Parks and Recreation

The predicted weather conditions reflect a less than idea performance and viewing conditions for an outdoor venue. Full refunds will be issued through the online ticketin

g system and the City expects to schedule a Spring event with the orchestra after the first of the year.

Madeira Beach Playground Ground Breaking

The City of Madeira Beach invites all to attend the Ground Breaking Ceremony for the new playground at the City Centre Complex on Monday, November 16th at 9:00AM.  

The Grand Opening Ceremony for the City Centre will take place on Friday, October 16th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  A ceremony with refreshments as well as faciltiy tours will be provided. More info at MadeiraBeachFL.gov

2015-16 Madeira Beach Aftercare Program

Madeira Beach Recreation is now accepting applications for the 2015-2016 Aftercare Program. As done in previous years, Mad Beach Rec will pick up from Madeira Beach Fundamental and Orange Grove Elementary. Prices remain the same and the fun and excitement will all go down at the brand new Madeira Beach Recreation Center.
